Kevin Marshall comes for a long line of upholsterers. He learned the craft in his teens from his father, Harvey Marshall, (Marshall & Sons in San Jose, CA.) who learned to sew from his mother, who worked for a leather shoe company.
Kevin spent more than a few years working for Keyston Brothers - a fabric wholesaler- as a foreman & later a salesman. this added to Kevin's knowledge of what original materials were used in various vehicles & boats.
A move to Lake Tahoe further expanded this knowledge in marine upholstery. Over the next five years some of the classic wooden boats he worked on would win awards in the annual Concourse de Elegance.
In 1989, Kevin, his wife & daughter, moved to San Francisco. While there he worked for other upholstery shops - refining his skill in the automotive arena. After receiving much praises for his work, it was in 1993 in So. San Francisco that Kevin decided to open his own shop.
Being a country boy at heart, Kevin decided it was time to move his family of five, now with the addition of two sons. Loomis is where he & his wife decided to settle down & raise their family.
Kevin first opened his shop in Auburn in 1999. Customers from both the Bay Area & Lake Tahoe soon found him again. The shop was running out of space, so in 2002 he relocated to a larger 3-bay door shop currently on Taylor Road in Newcastle, CA.
